My Foundation objectives

To provide the latest Information and support to people living with myeloma through regular newsletters, information Sheets, a telephone support line, support groups and this website.

To offer education to patients, carers and health professionals by conducting workshops and seminars and learning programmes for specialist nurses and others charged with the care of myeloma patients.

To facilitate myeloma research through our associated Medical and Scientific Advisory Group.

To raise Awareness and Understanding of myeloma within the medical and wider communities. 

Outcomes Sought

1. Those affected by myeloma are able to take control of their  situation by:

  • Accessing a comprehensive range of services provided by people with a deep understanding of the disease and an empathy with those living with it
     
  • Working more effectively in partnership with their health professionals to better manage the symptoms and affects of their disease.

2.  Awareness and understanding of myeloma within the wider community is increased leading to:

  • More equitable access to new treatments at affordable prices for patients.
     
  • Availability of funds with which to facilitate myeloma research in Australia.

  • More regular screening leading to earlier diagnosis and intervention resulting in improved treatment outcomes.
